At Distinct Cremations, you can opt for a direct cremation plan without a funeral service or as an alternative low-cost option we also offer cremation plans with a service. Our funeral plans are designed to cater to your wishes and an Direct Cremation Plan is our cheapest prepaid cremation option.

An oversized coffin is for individuals who are too big for the average coffin width of 24 inches, 76 inches in length and 14 inches in depth. If the deceased is over 22 stone or 6 ft 5 or over, then an oversized coffin will be needed.

Direct cremations are simpler and more affordable than traditional funerals. Choosing not to have an attended funeral avoids the cost and fuss of a funeral procession and service. Instead, a separate memorial can be arranged at a more personal venue.

There will be no changes to your plan and you have nothing to worry about - your funeral plan with Distinct Cremations is completely safe.

If you have purchased a funeral plan with a single payment or over a period of up to 12 months, you can cancel your funeral plan within the first 30 days and receive all your money back. If you cancel after 30 days you will get most of your money back, minus a £275 cancellation fee.

If you have purchased a funeral plan over 5 or 10 years and cancel your plan within 12 months, you will get a full refund of all payments paid. If you cancel after 12 months (the moratorium period), your instalments will stop and you will not be entitled to any refund of the money you have already paid. You can read more on our T&Cs page.

The average cost of a direct cremation in the UK is £1,597 which is on average £2,688 cheaper than a traditional funeral with a service.* Direct cremation is the cheapest funeral option. At Distinct Cremations, a direct cremation costs £1,299.

When you die, your family should first notify your local registry office so they’re aware that a death has happened.

A direct cremation is a simple unattended cremation. Having a cremation without a funeral service reduces the costs and stress associated with arranging a traditional funeral.

Direct cremation allows for a separation between the cremation and how you choose to say goodbye to your loved one.

Amazing service from the start. Dad already had his plan in place, this company demonstrated excellent customer service from the start of my difficult phone call. They always referred to my father as 'dad' and kept me well informed all from obtaining the death certificate, layed to rest, collection to cremation and arranged delivery of ashes on a day it suited me. Excellent service, I would highly recommend. We are both going to sort out our plans after Christmas.

Anyone who has lost someone they love deeply will understand how difficult it can be to arrange a fitting farewell to them. Right from the beginning Distinct Cremation were outstanding in their thoughtfulness and kindness and swiftly dealt with any requests from us. Everyone I spoke to was more than helpful and in particular Grace and Alice. Nothing was a problem to them and I felt that they were always just a call away. My family members were greeted with compassion at the Crematorium and the excellent team there had been briefed properly by Distinct Cremation about our wishes. The ceremony was greatly comforting for us all. From myself and my family I thank you everyone at Distinct Cremation.

From the start to the finish of my husbands journey was excellent. The staff gave their condolences and empathy. I received David's ashes from a very nice sympathetic gentleman who had travelled quite some distance to deposit them at my house I was very grateful. The cost of the cremation could not be better at this time. It gave me a chance to make other arrangement later. I have therefor made arrangements at the church followed by a celebration of his life at the local hotel.

I can't recommend this company highly enough. My wife died suddenly, leaving me floundering. I found Distinct Cremations online after phoning a more prominent alternative, who never returned my call or email! Right from the word go, Distinct were helpful, caring and efficient. Everything was taken care of exactly as my family and I requested, with no problems at all. Even after my wife's ashes had been returned to me, I got a courtesy call from Distinct with assurances that, should I need it, they were still there for me. As I said, I can't recommend them highly enough & I'm about to organise my own funeral with them.
